Andres was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico from Chilean parents. Andres has been dancing since he can remember, but has been dancing Salsa specifically since he was a teenager. When Andres was 15 years old, he was invited to a Salsa party where all he remembers were that the ladies literally ran to ask the guys who knew how to dance to join them on the dance floor. Amidst all the commotion he said to himself “Whatever this is, I have to learn it!.”

After graduating from college, Marcos and his friends decided to go out one summer's night to the famous Club 720. He heard the nightclub had one floor that would exclusively play Salsa music, so he went straight there. Granted, he didn't take a single Salsa class, but he was still confident in his ability to dance well. After all, he was Latin! I’m a 100% full blooded Filipino. I was born in San Matias Philippines, and moved to Chicago with my family when I was 5 years old. I don’t recollect ever having any interest in dancing at a young age. During my freshman year in high school, I dabbled at that current trend of “Break Dancing”. It lasted about 6 months. I never felt the desire to pursue any other dance styles for about 15 years after that.
Not unit 1997 did I feel the need to dance, or at least the more |
